Praise for Punktown(s)
Sorry about the lapse between postings — the past few weeks since my return from Viet Nam have been largely consumed by a fever of writing, which is a good thing: a new short story for an anthology to be announced soon, a polish of several old stories to be reprinted in the same anthology, and work on a new novel I also hope to announce shortly. In the meantime, there’s been some nice talk about several of my other books…
In the last issue of ASIMOV’S, Paul Di Filippo did a great review of PUNKTOWN: SHADES OF GREY.
“Not that the concept of Punktown really needs any shoring-up by cliques or claques. The venue that Thomas has created is a strong one, uniquely his own, and amenable to hosting just about any kind of tale.”
I wish I’d nabbed the physical issue; I caught the review online, here:

And now, Louis Fowler at Bookgasm has posted a fantastic review of PUNKTOWN.
“Thomas is the best author I’ve discovered in the past few years…It’s stories like these – wholly unique and without equal – that make me reaffirm my love of the genre.”

Well, I hope to give you some of my sort-of movie reviews and such in the next post. That is, if I can kick this fever long enough. But it’s hard for me to want to leave Punktown. Maybe because, as Paul Di Filippo puts it, “Punktown is a place that undeniably and forcefully intrudes its existence into our bland reality, rendering our own world colorless by comparison.”
Hm! Words that throw coal in the fever furnace, for sure!
